The Capital Awards are the signature annual event of IABC Edmonton, designed to honour excellence in communications practice across Northern Alberta. It brings together the region’s leading communicators, teams, and campaigns to celebrate strategic insight, creative execution, and measurable impact.

At the heart of the program are three Awards of Distinction – Inspired Leader of the Year, Inspired Communicator of the Year, and Inspired Member of the Year – recognising individuals and volunteers who model leadership, innovation, and service in the profession.

The Capital Awards ceremony also hosts the IABC Edmonton Annual General Meeting, where members receive updates on chapter initiatives and governance matters, contributing to the professional community’s direction and growth.
