Colleen Nuc
President
As Hoopla’s Creative Director, Colleen is responsible for making sure whatever we’re doing is visually impactful, tells a story, and stands out against the relentless noise we all face in today’s marketing. She has a remarkable talent for putting people who have never sat in front of a camera at ease and drawing emotions they didn’t even know they had out.
She’s also been known to stuff her face with cheesies to get a point across. This all translates into compelling, emotionally charged videos that resonate with audiences. Colleen is also the editor-in-chief at Hoopla. She manages all of our post-production, spending hours locked in a dark room scrubbing through footage to build unforgettable stories.

Cheryl Feldstein
Vice President
Cheryl Feldstein is a communications professional with over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, majoring in Professional Communications, a Business Marketing Diploma, and a Social Work Diploma. Her expertise lies in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and public relations, with a strong focus on creating impactful narratives that drive organizational growth and community engagement.
Over the span of her career, Cheryl has worked and volunteered throughout the nonprofit sector. From health to post-secondary education, to social services to animal welfare, her extensive experience provides her with a comprehensive understanding of community needs, the interconnectedness of systems, and the profound impact of storytelling. She believes in the power of effective communication to transform organizations and communities. In her current role as Director of Strategic Communications & Policy at the Edmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations (ECVO), she works tirelessly to ensure that every voice is heard and valued.

Dan St. Pierre
Past President
Dan St. Pierre has spent more than a decade building a career as a thoughtful, strategic communicator and relationship builder. With an undergraduate degree in political science from MacEwan University and a graduate degree in communications and technology from the University of Alberta, Dan has focused most of his career in the public and quasi-public sector. From 2012 to 2018, Dan was the director of communications and government relations for the Metis Settlements General Council, where he had the privilege of working with a unique Indigenous government in Canada. He joined Edmonton Economic Development Corporation/Explore Edmonton in 2018, where he served as director of corporate stakeholder relations, then director of strategic communications and partnerships.
In 2023, Dan was awarded a Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee medal for his commitment to community service. He also left the corporate world to spend a year on contract with the Alberta Craft Distillers Association and build a small consulting practice. Dan firmly believes that thoughtful, impactful, and authentic communication is vital to organizational success. Even with all the technological innovations that are rapidly changing the industry, the human element can’t be overlooked. That’s why Dan joined IABC Edmonton, to help promote the importance of the industry and support the next generation of communicators through a sector transformation.

Shannon Droeske
Director of Capital Awards
Shannon Droeske is a professional meaning-maker (aka strategic communicator) who’s deeply curious about how culture, leadership, and language shape the way we move through the world. Over 15 years spent across agencies, private companies, and nonprofits (plus enough certifications to wallpaper a modestly sized house) have taught her a few things… Like how communication is a foundational living system that influences whether we feel seen, heard, and valued as we relate to each other across society. And that what happens between the lines matters most because the stories we tell (and the structures we build around them) impact more than just the bottom line—they influence everything from individual well-being to the long-term success of our communities.
In short, Shannon’s work lives at the intersection of strategy, culture, and care. Whether she’s helping brands go from likable to livable or managing change, she specializes in navigating the messy middle—where good intentions meet complex reality. Her approach is rooted in empathy and curiosity, driven by a stubborn belief that we can make commerce less extractive and more human.
As Director of Capital Awards, Shannon is excited to champion the craft of communication and celebrate the people who bring clarity, courage, and creativity to our industry. She’s here to ensure we recognize the work that connects us, inspires us, and stands out in a world drowning in messaging.

Currently, Kyle is a Member Engagement Specialist with Alberta Motor Association (AMA), where he develops data-driven, omnichannel experiences—optimizing email and SMS automations, personalizing journeys, and enhancing customer connections across insurance, registry, and membership portfolios.
