Awards of Distinction

INSPIRED LEADER OF THE YEAR

The nominated individual must be:

  • a senior leader in their organization in Northern Alberta who understands the value of communication and what the communications profession brings to the organization’s success
  • nominated by an IABC member – the leader does not have to be an IABC member or even in the communications field. This person is someone who understands and appreciates the field of communications and works to ensure communicators are part of strategic leadership and that communication is a key pillar in the organization. 

You’ll need to provide: 

  • the nominee’s name, title, organization and contact details
  • one letter of support (500 words maximum) that provides examples of how the nominee:
    • Actively used communications to achieve objectives in the current/past year
    • Engaged communications staff and the organization’s executive on communication strategy development and implementation.

All nominations will be evaluated by a panel of IABC Edmonton (past) presidents, and the recipient will be presented with the award at the IABC Edmonton Capital Awards Gala on May 28, 2021.

INSPIRED COMMUNICATOR OF THE YEAR

The nominated individual must be:

  • a communications professional in Northern Alberta who has executed communications strategies and tactics throughout his/her career and in the current/past year
  • experienced, trusted, and always contributing to a positive reputation of communications professionals within our community
  • be a member of IABC Edmonton.

To nominate an individual, you’ll need to provide the nominee’s:

  • name, title, organization and contact details
  • one letter of support (300 words maximum) that provides examples of how the nominee:
    • consistently executes high quality communications strategies and tactics
    • is an inspiring role model for communications professionals within our community.

All nominations will be evaluated by a panel of IABC Edmonton (past) presidents, and the recipient will be presented with the award at the IABC Edmonton Capital Awards Gala on May 28, 2021.

INSPIRED MEMBER OF THE YEAR

The nominated individual must:

  • be the kind of volunteer or member who is the heart and soul of the IABC Edmonton chapter
  • have contributed to the success of the chapter in current/past year through volunteering, attending events, and always having a positive attitude and willingness to help.
  • be an IABC member. Chapter board members are eligible, with the exception of currently serving President, Past President and Vice President

You’ll be asked to provide the nominee’s:

  • name, title, organization and contact details
  • a list of service to IABC (Edmonton chapter, Canada West Region or International)
  • one letter of support (250 words maximum) that provides examples of how the nominee: 
    • Contributed to IABC Edmonton’s success in the current/past year
    • is an inspiring role model for other ABC Edmonton volunteers.

All Member of the Year nominations will be evaluated by the current IABC Edmonton executive (President, Past President and Vice President).
