Message from our Incoming President, Angela Saveraux
We're revamping the IABC Edmonton Board and that means lots of great new leadership opportunities to help shape how we engage with and bring value to our local communications community.
Over the past few years, our volunteer directors have been discussing a transition from a working board to a governance board to enhance our chapter’s effectiveness and to create new opportunities for our members to get involved.
With nearly 500 members, there is more than enough work to go around! We have an excellent team of volunteers working on behalf of our membership, and we’re excited to expand our slate of opportunities this year.
Due to the creation of a number of new positions, we have some vacancies on our board and will be calling for nominations at our AGM. If you’re interested in getting involved, I’d love to speak with you over the next few weeks!
Be sure to check out the Proposed Board Slate for 2016-17 to view all the opportunities to join the IABC Edmonton Board.
Annual General Meeting
IABC Edmonton’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place at our Capital Awards Gala on Thursday, May 26. We look forward to sharing an update with you on this year’s activities, as well as the proposed board slate for the 2016-2017 board year. We will also be voting on our revised bylaws, which you can review here.
Lots of important updates about your IABC chapter...plus the event of the season (if we do say so ourselves). Join us!
